How it works
Radio frequency is a high-frequency electromagnetic wave that passes through the epidermis and deposits its energy in the dermis. Our device manuals describe the effect plainly: the field drives water molecules in dermal tissue into rapid oscillation, and that friction heats the tissue to roughly 45 to 65 degrees Celsius. At those temperatures collagen fibers contract, which is why clients often see a modest tightening effect right away. The longer-term change matters more. Heat-injured collagen triggers a remodeling response, and new collagen builds up over the following weeks. Histological work on RF-based dermal remodeling devices has documented these fibril changes (Zelickson et al., Arch Dermatol 2004).
RF-01 shapes its output as a sine wave rather than a harsher pulsed discharge, so treatment feels warm instead of stinging. Contact cooling holds the epidermis at a low temperature throughout the pass, keeping the surface protected while the dermis absorbs the working heat. Operators apply a conductive gel and keep the tip moving in zigzag or circular paths, exactly as our engineering archive prescribes, which spreads energy evenly and avoids hot spots.
